- 1 block firm tofu (pressed, ~400 g)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or lemon juice)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey if not vegan)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
Step 1 – Prep Tofu
Press tofu for 20 minutes to remove excess water. Cut into cubes.
Step 2 – Make Marinade
Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
Step 3 – Marinate
Place tofu cubes in marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
Step 4 – Cook
- Pan-fry: Heat skillet with oil. Cook tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.
- Bake: Spread tofu on parchment-lined tray. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, flipping halfway.
Step 5 – Serve
Garnish with green onions. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or vegetables.
